Solveiga – Contemporary Franco-Latvian Painter
Solveiga is a Franco-Latvian contemporary painter whose work explores atmosphere, memory and the emotional perception of place.
Born in Latvia and now based in France since 30 years, she works from her studio in Feucherolles, where her practice unfolds between urban recollections and distant landscapes.

Her paintings do not aim to describe a location precisely. Instead, they evoke places as they are remembered — filtered through lived experience, softened contours and material presence. Cities such as Paris and New York appear suspended, often veiled by rain or snow, where atmosphere takes precedence over architectural detail.
In contrast, her Mediterranean and Asian landscapes unfold in luminous whites, deep blues and textured surfaces enriched with subtle golden and copper patinas, suggesting the passage of time and the intimacy of memory.

Trained in leading European institutions, Solveiga developed a solid academic foundation that informs her expressive approach. This cross-cultural education between Latvia, Finland and France shaped her distinctive visual language, balancing rigor and intuition.

Over the past decade, Solveiga has presented numerous solo exhibitions in France and internationally. Her work has been shown in Paris, Bordeaux, Versailles, Megève, La Baule, Villepreux and Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche, as well as in New York and Atlanta in the United States, Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Milan in Italy and Brussels in Belgium.
She has participated in major art events including the Affordable Art Fair (Milan and Brussels) and the Salon d’Automne in Paris, where she was awarded the FUNAOKA CANVAS Prize.

Solveiga’s paintings are part of private collections across France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Latvia, Morocco and Australia.

Artist studio in Feucherolles
From her studio in Feucherolles, Solveiga continues to develop a body of work that invites viewers into suspended spaces — where atmosphere reshapes the visible and places are experienced as intimate, emotional territories rather than geographic coordinates.
Nestled in the heart of the Parisian countryside, near Versailles, this space is more than just a workplace; it’s a sanctuary where imagination blooms.
This is where Solveiga finds her serenity and let her creativity flow. Her canvases come to life, inspired by the memories of her travels, each brushstroke telling a unique story.
